Hilaria Thomas Baldwin

Fitness and wellness expert Hilaria Thomas Baldwin is the co-founder of Yoga Vida, a yoga studio with locations in Union Square and Noho that offer yoga classes, workshops, retreats, and Yoga Alliance Registered Teacher Training Programs. She recently launched SoulYoga, a class offered exclusively at SoulCycle’s East Hampton location designed to stretch and strengthen the muscles used when indoor cycling.

Hilaria has been featured as a fitness expert on Extra and Good Afternoon America, and on Plum TV’s “Yoga with a View,” which can be seen on Hulu.com. She has also been featured in The Daily’s four part yoga series, and on the cover of The Daily Dan.

Hilaria has been teaching fitness and dance for more than ten years, and she began teaching yoga in 2005. She attended Somatic Experiencing® training in 2005, a program designed to naturally heal and resolve trauma. Hilaria incorporates her dance and fitness background, as well as her Somatic Experiencing® training, into her yoga classes.

In Hilaria’s classes, her students experience the mind-body union of yoga. Through dynamic sequences, her students consciously drift between states of activation and release, allowing for deeper body awareness. In addition to providing an energizing workout that balances the mind, she stresses the “why” for each movement, enabling her students to take charge of their own practices and understand the purpose of yoga. She encourages the mind to become aware of the body as it moves to detect and alleviate stress and suffering from the body, with the goal of empowering her students in their own bodies.

Hilaria is a graduate of New York University, where she majored in art history and dance.

Hilaria spent her childhood living in the United States and in Spain. She studied ballet, flamenco and gymnastics as a child, and at age 13, she began international Latin ballroom dancing. She has competed and performed professionally in the US, Europe and Asia.

Erin Jacques

Initially interested in the physical and fitness benefits of yoga, Erin focused her work on trying to perfect the postures and external aspects of her practice. However, after years of practicing and teaching various styles of yoga she has discovered that the effectiveness of yoga has less to do with the physical postures and more about connecting more intimately within and learning self acceptance while breathing and moving through the challenges. With over 14 years of experience in the industry she passionately teaches Yoga, Core Fusion® and Core Fusion® Yoga in New York City, and is one of exhale’s leading teachers. Erin creates a strong balance of effort with ease, strength with flexibility, and grace with humility in every class.

Loren Bassett

I was first introduced to hot power vinyasa through a nutritionist over 10 years ago in Dallas,Texas. A long-time competitive athlete, I was reluctant to try yoga because I didn’t think it would be challenging enough. I was amazed at how difficult it was, particularly the flexibility and balance aspect of the practice. The intense nature of this style immediately resonated with me. As I deepened my practice over the years, I embraced the profound and positive impact yoga has had on my life physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally.

I teach a rigorous, athletic flow, a “meditation in motion”, emphasizing strength, flexibility and balance, detoxifying the body and mind at their deepest level. Athletics and physical fitness has always been a passion and source of meditation for me. An advocate of cross-training, I recently created my own class called Bassett’s Boot Camp, combining everything I love to do in my fitness regime – hot power yoga, strength training with weights, cardio intervals and core work. Intense…love it!

I love making a difference and being a source of inspiration in peoples’ lives. I will challenge you, encourage you to try new things, build your confidence and strength and help you push through the mental and physical resistance. Serenity through strength. When you apply what you learn on your mat to your life off your mat, it changes your life.

My credentials include: (2) Level 1 teacher trainings with Baron Baptiste, a 200-hour teacher training certification from New York Yoga in 1992 and a 72-hour course in musculo-skeletal anatomy and kinesiology with Jason Brown in 2010.

Philanthropy and giving back is an important part of my life. I am a member of the Junior League of New York and have volunteered extensively for organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, ASPCA, the New York Foundling Hospital and Mott Haven Academy. My Morky, Max, recently became a therapy dog through the Good Dog Foundation. Incredibly rewarding. I received my BA in International Studies from Pepperdine University in Malibu California.

Andrea Borrero

Andrea started practicing in 1997 at Integral Yoga, and teaching in 2007; she received both her 200-hour (2007) and 300-hour (2008) certification from New York Yoga under the guidance of Kristin Leal. In addition, she's completed teacher trainings with David Swenson, Shiva Rea, and Isauro Fernandez. Sparked by a desire to incorporate other healing arts into her classes, Andrea recently began studying Thai Yoga Massage with Ananda Apfelbaum. With much gratitude, she considers herself to be at the beginning of a life-long journey. Andrea's strong flow combines Vinyasa and Ashtanga principles in an assimilation of anatomical knowledge, spiritual intention, meditation, and focused breath. An avid runner and kick-boxer as well as a yogini, she loves the honesty found in simply moving and sweating. Yoga IS medicine; it's intuition revealed and she dedicates her classes to this deep respect for the practice

Taylor Dunham

Taylor has been an athlete since the age of four - soccer, rugby, and eventually triathlon all led her to yoga as a means of healing & a path to connection. Her classes reflect the precision and technique of Iyengar & Anusara, with a strong focus on the breath. She infuses specific poses and moves to heal the body, as well as to address and prevent injury, and attributes her ability to cultivate a deeply focused yet playful classroom to her love of AcroYoga®.
